Virtual Facilitation

by arma (uk) Premium (Classic)

In this new normal we are all adapting to working remotely and interacting virtually. As a Research Manager you may still be needing to manage committees and groups as well as bring together a group of researchers in response to a funding call or facilitate a progress review with a set of collaborative partners. At a time when we are all juggling caring responsibilities, domestic life and work, there is certainly a desire to make the most effective use of everyone’s time - but what does that mean in practical terms? In partnership with ARMA, experienced research facilitators, The Collective, are offering a free interactive webinar focused on running effective virtual meetings in an academic context.

As an ‘office-less’ team The Collective are used to working remotely and also use virtual meeting technology to allow speakers and participants to join their face-to-face workshops from afar. More recently, they facilitated a successful virtual workshop for 60 participants including breakout discussion groups and reporting back via whiteboards.

The interactive webinar will be an opportunity to share their learnings and explore how to plan and run virtual meetings - and how to ensure that the technology helps rather than hinders your discussions. It will be focussed on what you want to know and on pragmatic and practical approaches that you can put into practice to help make facilitating virtual meetings a little easier.

If this sounds like something that you would find useful, please register your interest here - then we’ll be in touch with dates and timings. Closing date for expressions of interest is 5pm on Monday 27 April.
